Kartik Aaryan Opens Up On Viral Deleted TikTok Video With Sister That Received Backlash; 'Sometimes Things Are Blown Out Of Proportion'
Even during the lockdown, Kartik Aaryan is staying productive by making entertaining videos at home. He's making funny videos with his mother and sister and sharing on social media. However, one of his videos with sister Kritika Tiwari received backlash on social media. The video had him fighting with his sister for not making good food. He was accused of promoting domestic violence, post which, he removed the video from his Instagram account. Now, in the latest interview, he has opened up on it and shared why he deleted the video.

In an interview with Film Companion, a question was raised about his films like Pyaar Ka Panchnama and others being misogynistic in nature and so was the viral video. To this, Kartik said that he goes by what the writer and the directors say and that it is not to generalise anything. Over the viral video, he said that if he was actually promoting domestic violence, his mother or sister would have raised an objection as they saw the video before he posted on social media.

He was quoted saying, "Bola gaya ki it’s promoting domestic violence. Aap yeh socho agar waisa hota toh meri behen ko nahi lagta, ya meri mom ko nahi lagta? Unhone bhi dekha tha upload hone se pehele, shoot karne ke pehele. Sometimes things are blown out of proportion, I feel like that. Mere delete karne ke baad kitne logo ne mujhe phone kiya ki kyun delete kiya? So, har cheez ka A aur B side reheta hai and you just have to go along with it. And I’m not promoting anything.”

He further said that he deleted the video as sentiments of some got hurt. "I know kuchh logo ke sentiments hurt hote hain uss cheez se, toh maine isliye woh video delete kiya tha. If someone is getting hurt by this and feels that problems are increasing because of this, so I should just delete it and not get into it. It’s a video, I don’t really care about it," he said.
